Christmas Joy Quilt in a Day! Ha!!!
Hey everyone, Pam here on September 1 2025.
This is actually a post from December 1 2024. I started writing it on my phone but wasn't able to add pictures. I took the pictures but never actually added them to the post until today via my computer.
Yes I know, only 9 months later.

I hope you enjoy following along as I start a quilt from two sheets.
I’m so excited to be starting and (hopefully) finishing a quilt today.
The pattern is Christmas Joy by Lo and Behold Stitchery. You can purchase it online and do a PDF download . Christmas Joy Quilt Pattern
But first I have to clean up. It is too cold to be working in the unheated sewing room behind the garage.
Follow along and see how it goes.
I decided to wash the red sheet in case it ran.
Guess how long a “quick wash” takes on my machine...
I don’t really know.
Started at 10:12.
Still filling at 10:26. What????
Oh oh! Look at the colour! It's bleeding.
Better add vinegar to stop the bleed
Still going at 10:56
I’m quite impatient. Who knew?
Now to cut open and iron this humongous double bed sheet I got at my local thrift store.
It is a fitted sheet so is more difficult to use.
I needed help from my dear husband to hold the elastic as I cut it off.
I’m going to save the top border of the flat sheet to use for a ready made hanging sleeve - think Quilt Show! (Who says I’m not organized?)
Ooooohhh. Look at all that beautiful claret fabric!
Lovely!
About 84 inches wide! Fabulous!!!!
It's been snowing up a storm.
You are amazing!
