Quilts at Heritage Village

Dave and I spent an enjoyable couple of hours wandering in and out of the buildings at Heritage  Village in Largo.  It is located on 125th Street North at Walsingham Road.  It is run by Pinellas County with the help of many volunteers.

In the Moore House there are three bedrooms and three quilts  - Tree of Life, Wagon Wheel and Crazy.

Bedroom addition made from a corner of the front porch. Beautiful Tree of Life quilt is on the metal frame bed. Note the wooden wheel used as decoration.

Can you see the hand quilted feather?
Note colour of binding and colour of tree.

Interesting choice of colours for the feather stitch embroidery.

On the wall in the Walsingham House, also known as the Doctor’s house, is a beautiful piece of cross stitch.  The Lord’s Prayer is framed by a golden scroll and a geometric navy border. It is too bad it was not signed or dated.

It is amazing where quilts turn up.
I highly recommend visiting Heritage Village.

Of course I’m thinking about making a Tree of Life and a Wagon Wheel quilt now. Dreaming…
